This term is used when viewing the unfortunate sightings of denim jeans paired with a denim jacket. So totally hip and acceptable in 1985, but just very sad now. Officially it was born a few years back when a friend from Brisbane came for a visit, and being the fickle weather/cold place Melbourne can be, the only jacket she had bought with her was denim. And her jeans.

Right there DOD85 was born.

Unfortunately for us all - and our retinas, the DoD phenomenon doesn’t look like it will be winding up anytime soon - in fact, the fashion industry is doing all it can to promote DoD by encouraging magazine editors and advertising agencies to brainwash convince us all that Denim On Denim is back and it’s acceptable.

But we here at DoD85 know better!  That’s why we are encouraging you to send us any DoD85 sighting you encounter on your journey through this fashion jungle, or as we know it - life.
